Open 24/7 and usually on site within about 2 hours in Little Egg Harbor Township.
Little Egg Harbor Township sits at the southern tip of Ocean County, where Great Bay and the Mullica River estuary meet the back side of Long Beach Island. It wrapped around Tuckerton long before it saw much development. Then, starting in the late 1950s, builders dug lagoons and lined them with vacation bungalows in Mystic Islands, Holly Lake Harbor and Atlantis. Retirement communities followed. Today the township has 20,784 year-round residents (2020 census), and a lot of homes still sit a few feet above the tide. MaxClean Restoration covers all of Little Egg Harbor, 24/7.
Areas we cover in Little Egg Harbor
Mystic Island and its lagoon streets off Radio Road, Atlantis, Holly Lake Harbor, Edge Cove and Jessies Point on the water. Giffordtown, Parkertown, Nugentown and West Tuckerton inland. The neighborhoods along Route 9 and the adult communities to the west. We also serve neighboring Stafford Township and Barnegat Township, along with Tuckerton.
Water problems unique to the lagoons
Storm surge and tidal flooding. Sandy damaged roughly 4,000 homes here in 2012, most of them in Mystic Island. Many homes have been raised since then, but a strong nor'easter still pushes bay water into the lagoon streets and the garages and storage areas below raised homes. Hurricane Irene came ashore near Little Egg Inlet the year before. Saltwater ruins insulation, drywall, ductwork and anything stored on the ground floor, and it has to be cleaned out before drying.
Older bungalows. The original lagoon cottages were built quickly as summer places. Many sit low on crawlspaces with older plumbing. Leaks under the floor can go unnoticed until the floor feels soft or a musty smell shows up. Our technicians check crawlspaces and subfloors with moisture meters, not just the rooms you can see.
Seasonal and second homes. A house closed up for the winter can sit with a burst pipe for a week. Someone 18 or older needs to let our technicians in on the first visit. After that, we can supply a key box and send you photos and moisture readings from wherever you are.
Fire and smoke. Dryer vents, kitchens and space heaters cause most of the small house fires we see. Soot spreads through the whole house even when the fire stays small. Fire is usually covered under most homeowner policies.

Before we arrive
Little Egg Harbor is one of the farther towns we serve, so here is what you can do while our technicians are on the way. Shut off the water at the main if a pipe burst. Turn off the breakers for any flooded room if you can reach the panel without standing in water. Take photos and video before you move anything. Move rugs and furniture off wet floors if it's safe to do so. If water is coming up through a drain, stop using the sinks, toilets and washer. Water and sewer in the township run through the Little Egg Harbor Municipal Utilities Authority, so call them too, and they can check whether the problem is in the street main. You can see our finished work on the before-and-after page.
Insurance
We send the invoice to your insurance carrier on your behalf, but the invoice is still the homeowner's responsibility. That includes your deductible and anything your carrier doesn't pay.
In New Jersey, homeowners usually have the right to choose their own restoration contractor. We specialize in working with both homeowners and insurance companies to make sure the work is properly documented and covered, so your home gets back to its pre-loss condition. Flood insurance has its own limits for the space below an elevated home, so read that section of your policy before a storm. See our insurance claims page for help.

Little Egg Harbor restoration FAQs
Our home is elevated, but the garage and storage area underneath flooded. Can you clean that up? Yes. We remove the mud and debris, clean and disinfect the area, pull out wet wall finishes and insulation, and dry what's left. We document what was stored down there for your claim.
The floor in our Mystic Island bungalow feels soft. Is that water damage? It might be. A slow leak under the floor or moisture in the crawlspace can rot the subfloor over time. We can check it with moisture meters and tell you what we find.
We only use the house in summer. Can you check on it after a storm? Someone 18 or older needs to let our technicians in on the first visit. After that, we can supply a key box. We'll send photos and readings so you know exactly what's going on.
