Aberdeen Township sits on Raritan Bay in northern Monmouth County, with about 19,300 residents at the 2020 census. Until 1977 it was called Matawan Township, and many people still use the Matawan address. Two neighborhoods make up much of the town. Strathmore was built by Levitt & Sons starting in the early 1960s. Cliffwood Beach began as a 1920s summer resort on the bay and became year-round after World War II. MaxClean Restoration serves both, along with the rest of Aberdeen, at any hour.

Aberdeen neighborhoods we cover

Strathmore, Cliffwood, Cliffwood Beach, Oakshades, River Gardens, Freneau and the streets around the Aberdeen-Matawan train station, plus businesses on Route 34 and Route 35. We serve the neighboring towns too: Matawan, Hazlet, Old Bridge, Marlboro, Holmdel, Keyport and Keansburg.

Problems we see in Aberdeen

Sixty-year-old Strathmore houses. The Levitt-built homes in Strathmore are now around 60 years old. Original water heaters are long gone, but supply lines, shutoff valves, drain lines and older additions still fail. Slab-on-grade sections and lower levels are where that water ends up.

Bayfront flooding in Cliffwood Beach. Cliffwood Beach sits on low ground along Raritan Bay and the mouths of the local creeks. A strong nor'easter or tropical storm can push bay water into streets, crawlspaces and first floors. That water is contaminated, so removal and sanitizing come before drying.

Matawan Creek and storm drains. Heavy downpours fill Matawan Creek and the storm drains that feed it. When those back up, water comes in through floor drains and low doorways. Our sewage backup guide explains why drain water needs special handling.

Smoke from small fires. Kitchen fires and furnace puff-backs spread soot through a whole house, not just one room. Fire is usually covered under most homeowner policies, and fast cleanup keeps soot from setting into paint and fabrics.

Restoration services for Aberdeen

What to expect from our team

Our technicians shut off or confirm the source, then measure moisture through the affected rooms with meters and a thermal camera. We explain what has to come out and what can be dried in place, and start setting up dehumidifiers and air movers right away. Every day we take readings and adjust the equipment until the materials are dry. Then our reconstruction crew finishes the repairs, and you never have to hire a second contractor. Photos of finished jobs are on our before-and-after page.

Insurance

We send the invoice to your insurance carrier on your behalf, but the invoice is still the homeowner's responsibility. That includes your deductible and anything your carrier doesn't pay.

In New Jersey, homeowners usually have the right to choose their own restoration contractor. We specialize in working with both homeowners and insurance companies to make sure the work is properly documented and covered, so your home gets back to its pre-loss condition. Bay flooding and drain backups are often covered differently than a burst pipe, so check your policy. See our insurance claims page for details.

Aberdeen restoration FAQs

We live in Strathmore and a pipe burst under the slab. Can you find the wet areas? Yes. We use thermal imaging and moisture meters to map how far the water spread under flooring and into walls, so only damaged materials are removed. A plumber repairs the pipe, and we handle the drying and rebuild.

Our Cliffwood Beach home took on water in a storm. Where do we start? Stay out of standing water, take photos and call us. We pump out the water, take out soaked materials, disinfect the framing and run drying equipment, with photos of each room for your claim.

Do you also cover the Matawan side of town? Yes. We serve all of Aberdeen Township and Matawan Borough next door.

How quickly can you get to Aberdeen? We answer 24/7 and are usually on site within about an hour. Aberdeen is a short trip up Route 79 and Route 34 from our Freehold office.
